Our Mission

Advocate Impactful New Policies

VentureOhio supports the Angel Capital Association’s efforts to protect angel start-up funding and the start-up economy by urging regulators to preserve financial thresholds in the current accredited investor definition. We will also work to ensure Ohio’s tax and regulatory environment is supportive of new company formation and growth.

Tell Ohio’s Story

By increasing awareness and interest in Ohio as a place for venture investing and successful entrepreneurial activity is among the most important goals of VentureOhio. We will complete a survey and publish the 2014 VentureReport that reflects the venture investment and company building activity in the state in 2014. Also we will again organize and host its annual VentureDinner in the fall, which will bring together venture investors, companies, and others from around the state to network, celebrate the successes of the past year, and discuss ways to continue the growth and success of the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Grow Ohio’s Ecosystem

VentureOhio will work to support and optimize programs and initiatives offered by the Ohio Third Frontier, JobsOhio, and other state groups that seek to promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including increasing the funding to the Entrepreneurial Signature Programs, Pre-seed Fund Capitalization Program, and the Commercial Acceleration Loan Fund.  We also recommend that a new executive talent attraction program be created.
